ACH Direct Launches ACH Education Program For Customers
ALLEN, TEXAS, May 30, 2006 - ACH Direct, Inc., a leading technology provider of Automated Clearing House (ACH), credit card and debit card transaction processing and risk management services, today announced it is hosting a series of monthly educational teleseminars for its customers, designed to provide essential information about Automated Clearing House (ACH) electronic payments. The series begins on Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
Called “Demystifying ACH,” the educational series focuses on topics of interest to companies, such as important regulatory requirements. The content for each teleseminar is being developed and delivered by training professionals from SWACHA-The Electronic Payments Resource who hold the prestigious Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation.
"Accepting payments electronically is not a luxury today, it’s a necessity for maintaining market leadership, growth and profitability,” said Jeff Thorness, president and CEO of ACH Direct. “It’s estimated that 28 percent of American households either choose not to have a credit card or cannot get one. Offering ACH and e-checks expands the potential customer base for merchants, making it a desirable addition to their payment options. The challenge that many of these merchants face, however, is understanding and navigating through the complex rules and regulations governing these types of transaction. Educational events, like the teleseminars delivered by SWACHA’s training staff, offer our customers an opportunity to gain the understanding they need to comply with the rules.”
Each teleseminar takes place from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Central Time, allowing time for participants to ask questions. The teleseminar schedule is as follows:
- June 27: What Every Originator Needs To Know About Customer Authorization
- July 18: Authorization Requirements For WEB Transactions
- August 22: Authorization Requirements For TEL Transactions
- September 19: Exception Processing And Return Transactions
- October 10: Audit Requirements For Originators
- November 14: ACH Rules And Regulatory Compliance
“Now more than ever, it is critical to the integrity of the ACH Network that all participants comply with the rules and regulations. Education is vital to ensure that merchants stay informed and aware of their responsibilities,” said Dennis Simmons, AAP, president and CEO of SWACHA-The Electronic Payments Resource.
“We are pleased to assist in the development of a curriculum specifically to help merchants master issues like authorization requirements and authentication of customers,” Simmons added. “We applaud ACH Direct for taking this innovative action.”
Space is limited, so merchants interested in participating are encouraged to sign up at their earliest convenience at www.achdirect.com.
